Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but along with the "fantastic" paint job on the doors and walls, the carpeting is also being replaced. The main floor of each building will be tile, with the stairs, 2nd floor, and 3rd floor remaining carpeted. This picture is of the main floor after the carpeting had been ripped out. The dark part at the bottom is a mat that used to sit just inside the door, for you to stand on when you came in with wet/dirty feet, I guess to protect the carpeting. It also subbed as a door stop when you needed it held open for long periods of time. The tile has now been laid and grouted. Now if we would just have a sunny afternoon, I could take a picture of it. It looks to be more of a "sandstone" pattern, as opposed to my bathroom tile which looks more marble like.

  1. Is it going to be lighter than those walls or as dark as you have in your bathroom? With any luck it'll be lighter as those walls are a tad dark and really could use *something* to brighten the area up.

  2. I agree with Ladystyx, that area could use "something" to brighten it up.

  5. Oh those colors will go very nicely with the maroon doors! And no, the tiles aren't lighter than what's in my bathroom, LOL.

  6. Well, if the tiles aren't lighter, we'll have to grab the orange and green paint. I don't think much of maroon doors... Maybe we can find a better colour to paint the doors too?

  7. Day-glo orange all over (floor , walls and ceiling)....fluorescent green for the stairs and railings and hot pink for the doors (maybe a nice neon yellow for the molding around the door too). Check. We forget anything?

  8. I think we forgot the basket attatched to the wall by the door for the complimentary sunglases that I'm sure at least most of the visitors will require. LOL!
