Following is a post covering a lot of different topics, things that I've mentioned or discussed with various people over the last few weeks.First, I finally spoke to my doctor's nurse last Thursday. I asked about the xray results from the previous Wednesday. She told me what showed up in the xray was the start of arthritis. So tomorrow, if I have time, I'm going to go ahead and try to set up an appointment to see a Physical Therapist. Not sure what six visits will get me, but perhaps I will come away with some regular exercises to do so I won't be on 800mg of Ibuprofen for the rest of my life.
Above is the waterfall across the street from my work that they started up this week. During the Christmas season, they string lights up from all the trees, making it look very festive. There's a little path behind it, where I believe you can walk, although I've never gone back there. Perhaps this summer when it's a little warmer out, I'll check it out. It's just tough crossing a six-lane road on foot.
Here is an alien I found living under my desk at work. You can see a little bit of the hoses that they have inserted into the wall. Is this a baby alien, that was left here alone, while the parent went outside to stand guard? And exactly what is it doing? Stealing important steel data from our office? Inputing viruses?
This is the difference between our old and new carpeting. The old carpeting is blue, a little lighter than sky-blue, very worn and ugly looking. During the winter, with one particular pair of shoes, I am constantly getting shocked from a build-up of static electricity. The new carpeting is actually squares of the same pattern that are being alternated to give it a checkerboard appearance. It's much darker, but it will wear better than the older carpet. And I don't get a "charge" from it, lol.
freakin cool post!!! we have the industrial type carpeting like that and damn I still get shocked from a build-up of static electricity. Didn't even occur to me it could be my type of shoes.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of Canadian Geese.... where did you say you lived?
Sorry to hear about the arthritis in your shoulder. Hopefully, you can get some relief in physical therapy.
ReplyDeleteI get zapped and zap other people quite often, but not from carpeting, but from the fabric in either my chair at work or our loveseat in the living room. (sometimes I even see lots of sparks...got Terri just the other night after I stood up from the loveseat to hand him the tv remote...LOL) I guess I'm just a shocking person. (I use a lot of Static Guard)
I don't rest my fingers on my keyboard when I'm not typing, and I have no idea why the letters on my keys wear out like they do. I'm missing 2 totally, 3 almost gone, and a couple more worn but readable on this new (but cheap) keyboard. *shrugs*
We have a pair of Canada geese living on a pond near us. They flew over me last evening while I was outside raking the lawn. They usually fly around early in the morning, too. Quite a bit of honking from just two geese. LOL
Love the pics. Keep 'em coming. Loved the alien ones, too. LOL
Oh goodness. I think we will need to divert some of the millions of dollars spent looking for a cure for cancer, AIDS, and the common cold to OCHAshutterbugitis; it appears highly contagious, and reaching pandemic proportions. The condition is hopefully not debilitating, but only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteWill ChicagoLady be able to lead a somewhat normal life now that she has contracted it? Gosh I really hope so. I'll put in a call to the CDC and to the National Institutes of Health in the meantime.
ROTFLMAO@ iggy....too funny!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn I wish I could get my keyboards to last that long. 6-8 months tops....then I really need one just because the letters are gone and some of the keys have dents. Maybe I need to get away from the puter more often. I dont see that happening for a while though.
I still have the same keyboard that I;ve had for over 4 years and the keys look perfect. There is dust on the keys that I haven't used in awhile but every letter is in place and shows up quite well. Of course I am not at my PC as much anymore so that could have something to do with it.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the waterfall and the geese.
I hope the PT helps with your arthritis. At least now you know where to start.
Hugs!
