This morning, after my shower, I opened up my blinds to find this:
A Mourning Dove had decided to perch on the 3-4 inch ledge outside my bedroom window. As you can see, there wasn't much room for his/her tail.
It sat there while I got ready for work. My bed is about 3 feet away from the window, and I was able to sit on the bed to put my shoes and socks on, the bird never moving.Dumb bird!
There is a mourning dove that sits on top of the electric pole outside my bedroom most mornings, and I can hear it cooing. Annoying after awhile...especially when it wakes me up. Great pics!
ReplyDeletehe was holding out for a better peak show besides putting socks and shoes on LOL
ReplyDeleteNothing like waking up to a bird mooning you! lol You should have mooned him back!
ReplyDeleteIf this bird was indeed a "he", his name was "Tom" and he was confused since he was at the wrong window. He was looking for the bathroom window - like a Peeping Tom would...
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat way to start the day though, a little something nice and unexpected.
Wow. Unsual that the bird would stay on the sill even with movement in the room. Shoot, I cant even get pix of the birds on the backyard fence from my office because they see the movement in the window. Maybe it was looking to hitch a ride in the Maggot?
ReplyDeleteThat's one trusting bird! It must be used to being around people to be willing to stay put while you were moving about that close to it.
ReplyDeletePretty awesome sight. I'm with Punkn, ya should have mooned him back. LOL
