While looking for something else, I came across a website that stated Sunday is the start of "National Squirrel Awareness Week." A snippet from the site:
"Sure, we could intiate a campaign to do away with this national embarrassment. Or, perhaps we should promote Skwerl Awareness Week as a time to drive the bushytails back into their forest hovels where they can gambol around with all their skwerlvert eco-terrorist friends. Then we could release an army of famished wolves into the forest and... well, you can see where we're going with this... "
To see the website and read all the suggestions of what to do this next week, click on this link. Warning! Some of the suggestions are down right mean. You can also do a google search of National Squirrel Awareness Week and find other sites that give details.

ReplyDeletehmmm well I know what I would do with a squirrel if I had one..but then squirrel dumplings really do taste good in the winter.....
ReplyDelete*winces at the thoughts of squirrel dumplings*
ReplyDeleteI think you are thinking about Squirrel Patties and/or Chips Alice Kay...

Goodness, here I thought squirrel awareness week would be all warm and fuzzy and people would being enjoying their cuddly fuzziness - but no... I bet SugarBush won't speak to us again... ever!
*wipes my poor lil' squirrelly eyes* Such cruel thoughts. My poor heart is breaking. BooooHooooo! Ah, now I feel a bit better. Does anyone know when Human Awareness week is? *grins evilly*
ReplyDeleteSome of the comments were rather nice... but many were a bit on the mean side. Poor squirrels get a bad rap.
