The Doctor: Tomorrow, I'm calling the doctor. I've had a sore throat since Thursday afternoon, it hurts to swallow, and it hasn't gotten any better. I've also had a low grade fever the last three nights by bedtime. I'm pretty sure it isn't tonsilitis, since my tonsils were removed the summer between kindergarten and first grade. One of them was supposedly growing back, so it is "possible" that it is infected. I really hope it's nothing serious.
The Good Samaritan: Today while driving on the interstate to my aunt's house, I witnessed a Jeep Cherokee spin out of control in front of me, going from the right lane, across to the left shoulder, facing opposite of traffic. It's been raining cats and dogs all weekend, and I was noticing some hydroplaning myself. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder opposite her and called 911. She appeared unhurt, just shook up. She was very fortunate there is a wire type fence along the grassy divider between the east and west bound lanes, otherwise she very well may have gone down into the divider and flipped. Once I was off the phone, in the pouring rain (with just my socks on.......I'm kidding Punkn!) I ran across the road to make sure she was ok and to let her know I had called for help. Her entire front bumper was off, but the airbag didn't deploy, and she was just freaked out by what happened. She thanked me for helping, and I went on my way.

That was great how you did that for the woman who had the accident. I think some drive right on by when they see things like that happen.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather always told me to gargle with warm water mixed with peroxide...half and half. I know...most doctors tell you to use salt water, but the peroxide really does help a sore throat. Hope the doctor fixes you right up soon. *hugs*
*nods* the peroxide will help kill the germs. Keeping my fingers crossed that it aint strep.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the lady wasnt terribly hurt.
Good for you for helping! The weather was truly nasty all weekend, we had a few scary moments on our way back from Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteGargle with hot pineapple juice, I swear to God that it will take the pain away. They say that it draws out the poisons from your throat. I don't know if that's true, but it does stop the pain.
Maybe its just a mild case of pherengitis (fancy word for sore throat). So many different remedies for it all the above being good suggestions. But my mothers favorite was always warm whiskey with lemon! LOL
ReplyDeleteToo many ppl anymore just keep driving when they see something bad happen on the road. You were an angel to that woman I am sure :-). We always knew you were a good person and now you've proved it :-)
No wonder you have a cold - running around in the chilly rain with just your socks on....Seriously though, I hope you feel better soon - a sore throat for 4-5 days seems like way too long.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you helped that woman. I wonder if she wanted until help arrived?
Glad the lady wasn't terribly hurt. Good for you for helping! :)
ReplyDeleteHope the doctor can get your sore throat feeling better quickly. *hugs*
There she goes running around with just her socks on again. The world would be a better place if there were more people like you! I'm glad no one was hurt and I hope you get to feeling better again.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! What goes around comes around so be ready for some kindness to be bestowed upon you!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post by you? I get confused. Nice work on stopping. So many others would have cursed her for driving poorly and went on their merry way if they didn't see blood. I like hearing stories like this. :) Happy Friday - I hope you're feeling better!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI would have stopped too. Glad the accident wasn't any worse.
No new posts this week?? I sure hope you are ok!!! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteYour background is freaking me out!!! I swear it's moving, but I know it's not. Some kind of mind-freak going on around here, lol!
ReplyDeleteThe movie WILL be coming out on DVD but no release date as of yet. Thomas saw it yesterday while I was stamping and HE CRIED too!! You can't help it, and yet you can't not watch it either.
You need to let us know what the doctor said!!! *hugssssssss*
