I went to the doctor today. She gave me more muscle relaxers and a prescription for pain pills (analgesic + acetominophen). She also suggested I got to physical therapy for 12 sessions to start strengthening my back muscles.
Back to the couch I go.

Sounds good to me! I just wish i had an excuse to lay on the couch!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has had back problems forever and finally his doctor put him in physical therapy and if that doesn't work he will have to be put on pain meds for life!
I'm okay with that. As long as he shares with me ;o)
Hope those remedies work. In the meantime enjoy the down time and just relax :)

ReplyDeleteIm assuming that you spend a great deal of time seated at the computer at work. Compounded with the time you spend on the computer at home, it's really not much surprise the back is acting up. It's possible you'll need to carve out time daily for those exercises. Just a heads up on that.

Good luck with the PT. They worked on my back muscles when I was going to PT for my neck. I hope they help and you are up and at 'em soon. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteGlad you went to see the ol' pill pusher and he is giving you some relief. PT is probably a good idea. My problem with PT has always been following up with the exercises at home (guess that is a way of saying I'm lazy lol)

You need to move the computer over so that you can blog all day long while you lay flat. I would sooooo do that. I don't have a laptop but I'd make it work. LOL

ReplyDeleteYou know, they say the worst thing you can do with back pain is spend all your time laying down or sitting somewhere. Movement is meant to be better for back pain. I don't know much about it, but that's what I've heard.
