I was taking a picture of something for Iggy, and remembered I had all these pictures still on my camera. I don't remember exactly when I went for this walk. I know it was late summer, before the leaves started changing, and during one of our wet periods. It was a Saturday afternoon, the weather was beautiful, so I drove to the Morton Arboretum and took a nice relaxing walk in the forest.
One part of the section I was in was a Spruce Forest, it was so peaceful, there was no noise, no cars, no people, just me and the trees.
Here's a rock bench to sit and relax during the walk. There were a few inclines, not too steep, but I just took my time enjoying being outside in the fresh air.
What's a walk without seeing OCHA's? They were guarding the crosswalk to make sure the hikers didn't get hit by stray cars.
Back by where I parked my car, there was this suspicious alien looking thing guarding the port-o-pottie. I dared not get too close, not knowing exactly what it might do to me. I'll have to check with Iggy, but I think it might be a very rare sighting of an OSHGA (Orange Square-Headed Garbage Alien).
Because of all the rain, there was lots of fungus growing everywhere. These are some of the more interesting ones. And no, I didn't eat any of them!
Hey! It's really nice to see an entry from you!
ReplyDeleteThat walk looks like one I'd enjoy - nice and shady during a warmer sunny day.
And you spotted a new, never before detected alien.. that Osh-gah (OSHGA) is neat! It looks like it was playing hide-n-seek with someone(s). I'm just glad you avoided that "Large Person-Eating Blue Square" - just seeing the mouth open on that thing gives me the willies!
:) Hugs - glad you didn't eat the wild 'sroons!
holy crap....an entry!
ReplyDelete*grabs a paperbag and begins breathing in it*
Question is, is the OSHGA trying to be menacing OR is it laughing?
Nice post.
ReplyDeleteshe broke the spell of crackbook long enough to give us a lovely post!!! *faints dead away* LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place that Iggy would love to visit. He wouldn't avoid that OCHGA or whatever..I've seen him pick up baby OCHA's that have fallen over and make sure they are okay before setting them upright, patting them on the head (?) and telling them to stay there and not follow him! LOL
I love walks like that especially when there are no other people aroaund :)
ReplyDeleteDo you know, now, cos of that bloody Iggy, whenever I see an orange cone in me travels and I have me camera with me I have to take a photo LOL
x
Happy New Year, Chicagolady!
