Hungry Squirrel:
Kerry commented about the birds and bunnies coming out for Spring, and that got me thinking about the pictures I took of a hungry squirrel a few weeks ago before our last big snowfall. This was the best picture I took of it, just sitting there at the top of the tree eating leftover berries that the birds hadn't finished. The poor thing probably didn't store enough food. I wonder if that was because we had the big snowfall on December 1, then bitter cold temperatures (for December?) Whatever the reason, this little guy didn't plan well at all, lol. What the picture doesn't show, simply because it was overcast that day, was the fact that this is a red squirrel. I know what some of you are thinking. What's so unusual about a red squirrel? Well...most of the squirrels I see by me are the grey squirrels, so to see one lone red squirrel was unusual and a treat for me. Oh, and his name is Charlie too, LMAO.
That's a cool picture!!
ReplyDeleteCharlie is a cutey, lots of red squirrels by me and brown ones and grey ones........ you saw them lol
Good pic. We have both around here, too, but mostly the gray ones. The red squirrels are more of a nuisance because they're smaller and can get into more things.
ReplyDeleteBtw, does his mom know you named him Charlie?
I even remember the black squirrel we saw when we were in Toronto. Had never seen one of those before!
ReplyDeleteGuess what AK? His mom's name is Charlie too, lmao
One of the things I noticed about the red squirrel, is that, to me at least, the tail seemed fluffier. Was I just imagining that?
LOL I think you were imagining it... is that spelled right?
ReplyDeleteoops you don't do typo corrections no more lol
seriously I think their tails look fluffier as you look at them, perhaps they sense you looking and try to fluff them up more makes them more attractive? It's an image they have to maintain
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
