Top Ten Employee Rules:
1. If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.
2. If you can't get your work done in the first 24 hours, work nights.
3. Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
4. For every action, there is an equal and opposite criticism.
5. Keep your boss' boss off your boss' back.
6. Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.
7. To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research.
8. The sooner you fall behind, the more time you'll have to catch up.
9. Don't be irreplaceable; if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.
10. If you are good, you will be assigned all the work. If you are really good, you will get out of it.

so true! I needed these by my desk when I worked!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are keeping these rules close by - when things at work get really slow - those rules get harder and harder to keep.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this!! You are so brilliant in finding Good Stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd...practice is 9/10 of anything and everything!

Lol. I like those rules. Let me know how it works out for you following them.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I need a bigger shredder, I'm going to be getting rid of a lot of evidence!
ReplyDeleteCriticsm, been there, received that.
I always fail in full view. Fortunately, some have had their eyes closed at the time, lol.
I always thought it was good to be irreplaceable. Then I was replaced.
I'm good enough to get a lot of work (when we have it to get), but not good enough to get out of it. Is there a class I can take to learn how?
Hmmm...I must be like you, Chicagolady....good enough to get all the work but not good enough to figure out how to get out of it. When you find the class to learn how, let me know and I'll be there with you.
ReplyDeleteHaha--these rules made me chuckle. :) Although I've gotta admit, rule #9 has been a real thorn in my side lately...
ReplyDeleteNo honey, you CANNOT have my sweet kitty. Nice try though. Normally she runs away from The Bella and her brand of "lovin", but last night she just took it. Sasha is my cat - through and through.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I had to come over and return the favor, and I found this great list!! oh that made me smile...
