Last night I rented this movie, starring Denzel Washington, who plays the lead character Eli. It's sort of a post-apocalyptic scene, where he is trying to deliver a very important book to a place for safekeeping. There were a couple of bloody scenes, and a lot of killing, but it's a very barren, survival of the fittest type landscape. You start to learn the significance of the book about half way through. I thought it was a very good movie and would recommend it highly.
Marty bought the dvd when it came out and left it here with us. I've watched it a couple of times, and I must admit, the first time I watched it, it took me awhile to get into the story, but my oh my...what an ending. Great movie. Denzel Washington at his best. (i don't think he's ever been in a "bad" movie) *two thumbs up*
ReplyDeleteI'm with Alice. That ending caught me even so slightly off guard. I don't usually get into movies that are really heavy but I liked this one.
ReplyDeleteI've not seen it. I'm kind of on hte fence with Denzel.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an intense movie though.
:)
I can't watch really intense movies..I get all anxious with the "hurry up and finish it already"attitude. But I will try to watch this one. If you say it's good..it has to be :D
ReplyDeleteI think you will really appreciate the message, Karla.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this movie! At first I was looking forward to it, but then it got negative reviews and didn't do well at the box office. Plus Alex liked it and we almost never agree on which movies are "good". I may have to see if the library here has it....
ReplyDeleteSo all that to say, Thank You, lol!
I like anything Denzel Washington stars in. I'm adding this to my Netflix picks.
