Anyone for a three hour tour?

I got mine tonight, coming home from work. I left work at 4pm, and arrived home at 7pm. The first 45 minutes was spent trying to get onto the tollway to head South. Then another 45 minutes was spent getting to the next tollway to head West.

At that point, I pulled over onto the shoulder because my windshield wipers were so crusted with ice, I couldn't see anymore. 30 minutes later I had to pull over AGAIN to get the ice off so I could see.

Another 30 minutes to get to my exit, and 30 minutes to actually exit off the tollway.

Average speed? About five miles per hour. All for 2 FREAKIN' INCHES OF SNOW! What will things be like if we get a REAL snowstorm??? Not one single street had been plowed. We were just following in the tire tracks of the car in front of us and praying we could stop when we needed to.

I'm half considering taking a "snow" day tomorrow, since I still have 1-1/2 vacation days left this year.

Is it Spring yet?

  1. I hear ya SISTER!!! An hour and a 1/2 to go the 7 1/2 miles from work to home! Just wait until Thursday, you might want to work from home.

It looks like we were 2 ships passing in the night. I just posted something for all of my wonderful blogging friends (Like YOU!) for all the thoughtful comments. Come on back and get your gift.

  4. It looks like we got about an inch of snow here...it must of been windy in the city to blow this far east. I think I'd go for a 3 hour tour on the SS Minnow rather than deal with the snow myself. Doesn't some uncharted island - not from some tropic port sound nice? And I'm sure the Professor will somehow figure out how to get the coconuts and the radio rigged up for internet access and blogging. :)

  5. Wow, chicagolady....that sounds like a mess. I would freak out if it took me that long to get home on bad roads. We got some snow last night, but it changed to sleet when I went to bed and is still a sleet/rain mix out there now. Off to work....thank God I only have to drive 3 miles to get to work.

    Anywho's... Guess what???

    You won ANOTHER AWARD!!!

I know it's hard to believe, but it's TRUE!

Come on by and get it while it's hot!

  7. Dayum! Only two inches caused that big of a mess? We got ice and then a dusting of snow over it. So far it has not been difficult getting around at all. Did you take that snow day today?
