So, it wasn't super busy at work today, I actually had time to check my home email, but it wasn't boring either. I got most of my orders faxed off to the mill this morning/afternoon. I have one I'm waiting on pricing for, and another I was told to hold it an extra day, I have no idea why. YOU try asking a japanese that speaks very little English and see if you can get a clear answer, lmao.

I stopped at Target on the way home. There was a cd I wanted to buy, Jason Aldean's new cd Relentless. I also picked up some bottled water that was on sale, cases of 28 for $4.50 each. And I bought a plastic tub to store blankets in, part of my "clean up this bedroom" project.

Then I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some needed food supplies. Like...turkey and cheese for sandwiches, milk for my breakfast, a package of pork chops for grilling, some Nutri Grain bars for breakfast this weekend (because my cereal is kept at work), 100 calorie packs of oreo thin crisps, some cantaloupe, some apple slices...and I think that was all.

It's nice not being controlled by what's on tv, but some nights, when it's warm like now, it's hard to figure out just what to do until bedtime. I was going to start a book last night, but decided against it due to the late hour. Maybe I'll go start one as soon as I send this cd to Kerry, LOL.

The Weekend's Over Already?

Well, what do you know about that? Seems like the weekend just started and it's over already. Time flies when you're having fun! NOT!

Thursday night was interesting, sorta. My aunt in California called me, because she was worried about my sister, whom several people in my family had not heard from in a while, so I volunteered to call my other aunt in Minnesota to see if she had heard from her. Lo and behold, she had. So all is calm again in California. Although she'd like to strangle my sister for worrying her so. (And wouldn't we all?)

Other than that, I had a very quiet weekend. Watched football mostly, and chatted with Kerry on Saturday for about what 8 hours in MSN? LOL I went for a quick trip to the grocery store tonight, and filled my car up with gas. Prices are going up again, what's the deal? I haven't heard of any refinery problems, or increases in the price of a barrel of oil, so why is gas going up? I also went for a walk this afternoon between football games, since it was about 43F (+6C), pretty warm for January. Felt good to get out and get a little bit of exercise, and I need it after all the gorging I did over the holidays!

I decided to relax in front of the tv tonight, watched The West Wing at 7pm CST, since it's one of the last episodes John Spencer filmed before dying of a heart attack on Dec 16. Then I watched Supernatural, a show about two brothers who are searching for their Dad by going around the country investigating paranormal/strange occurrances. Tonight's episode was a little gory, a plumber got his hand chopped off...n/m, you don't want to know. Anyway, after that, I watched CSI: NY then CSI: Miami, as both shows were delayed due to football running long.

And now that it's midnight, I need to head to bed so I can get 5 hours of sleep, lol

Quick and Painless

Is that what the dentist said to Kerry tonight? LMAO

Busy day today! It's end of month AGAIN! Seems like I just went through all this, and now I'm doing it again, lol. Ran some errands on the way home from work today...stopped at the post office to get stamps, got gas for my car (gas is getting cheaper and cheaper, wooo hoooo 2.14/gallon), and picked up some dry cleaning. Tomorrow night (Friday) is my "Holiday Dinner." Guess it's not being called a Christmas Dinner, because we have so many Japanese people in the office, and I just bet some of them aren't Christians, lol.

So I had this outfit for oh at least three years and never wore it, lmao. I LOVED the outfit in the store, but the pants were too long. I bought it anyway, and just never got around to having the pants hemmed. Well, since it was suggested that I reconsider going to the Holiday Dinner, I figured now was a great time to hem the pants and wear this outfit. The pants are all black, real soft material. The top is button all the way down, it's like a jacket, goes down past my hips, it's tan in the front and black in the back, with this blacked stitched flower or something on the front. I think it looks very nice on me, perfect for this dinner, which we've been told is business formal. Black flats with the outfit, and I'm all set.

Now I'm just hoping that the snow really does hold off until after midnight so I can get home from this dinner beforehand. And since I'm going to the dinner, I get off work at 2pm tomorrow!!! Gives me a chance to come home, shower, shave, get all spruced up, grab a little snack since dinner won't be until 7pm and I'll be starving by then, lol.

I had bills to pay tonight, had two episodes of Days to watch (one of which had no sound so it only took 7-8 minutes to fast-forward through it, lol), watched ER, typed up this, and now I'm going to bed. Hope everyone else sleeps as well as I'm going to tonight!

Wow, what a nice long weekend I had!

I took a vacation day on Wednesday, went and did some Christmas shopping before the rush started. I went to Wal Mart and Borders and came home with a trunkful of stuff, lol And still MORE shopping to do! That will happen during the week in the evenings, I will almost avoid all the stores on the weekends for the next month. It's not worth it to fight the crowds. I really have started hating all the commercialism around Christmas these days.

Thursday was Thanksgiving! Yummy turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes and green bean casserole (yuck) and corn and rolls and pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie! I was stuffed, brought some turkey, stuffing and gravy home. Everything else was about gone, lol 20 pound turkey for 5 people and there was not much left over. Another tradition on Thanksgiving is the Dallas football game. Unfortunately this year, they lost. But they had a chance to take the lead and missed an easy 34 yard fieldgoal. That left the score tied, into overtime they went, and Denver pulled out a win. Oh well! The NY Giants lost on Sunday, so we're still tied with them for the division lead!

Saturday I slept in and did nothing all day, LOL. Sunday I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was good, but seeing as the book is 700 plus pages, there was so much stuff that had to be skipped over or ignored, to me the movie was missing something. I still liked it, but it wasn't my favorite of the four movies so far. I still have not read the newest book, hopefully I'll be able to borrow it from someone eventually and read it.

Today was back to work Monday, busy busy busy. And the emails from Kerry!!! OMG is all I can say! Sorta makes me glad I'm homeless, LOL I have a candle party to go to Wednesday night at 7pm, so will miss Kerry's stream :( I'm sure she'll play some awesome Christmas music! Then Friday night is our "Holiday Dinner" for work. Originally, I said I was not going to go. The reason? Where they are having it, is 45 miles away, and with the weather in December being so unpredictable, I didn't want to chance having to drive that far in potentially bad weather. Around here, 45 miles could take you an hour or more to drive. Well, I come into work this morning, and what do I have but an email from my boss. He was talking with our president, who wants those of us who declined to go to the dinner to "reconsider" but not to feel obligated to do so. I'm sorry, but sending an email like that MAKES me feel obligated to go. Since I didn't really have a good excuse other than potential weather for not going, I told him I'd go. My dinner will be Filet Mignon, because my other option was stuffed chicken with mushrooms. You don't think I'd eat that, do you???? Dinner is 6-9pm, and by going to the dinner we get out of work at 2pm or when business allows you. In other words, if you're really busy, you stay until you can leave. If you're not so busy, you leave at 2pm, LOL. I dropped a couple pairs of pants off at the cleaners tonight, one to get cleaned, the other to be hemmed, so I have a couple options for outfits on Friday.

That should get everyone caught up on my life for now!

Another Boring Day in My Life

Got up, went to work, worked (LOL), came home, stopped at the store and bought $20 worth of groceries so I could get a case of diet coke for only $2.99, watched Days of our Lives, chatted with Kerry on msn, and went to bed.

Oh yeah, and I read today that GM is cutting 30,000 jobs and closing 9 plants in North America. That's approximately 9 percent of their workforce. They say they are closing plants so their production will be down to the level of the amount of cars they are selling. What they need to do is make their cars more enticing to people so they'll buy them! LOL

Busy and exciting day, huh?

Tuesday's may suck too, but it was better than Monday

I started the day out early, got to work at 7:05, then stayed at work an hour late too, so about 2 hours of overtime in just today. Traffic was a mess trying to get home. Our dear governor has decided that every toll booth on every road around Chicago needs to be under construction to convert to "open road tolling" ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Needless to say, it has made for some scary moments with all the lane closures and people changing lanes and cutting people off, definite practice in defensive driving. Finally one of the toll booths opened a couple of the new lanes, but of course no one was prepared for it, and so traffic was even worse today than it was yesterday or last week. There's still two more lanes to open, and I'm still not convinced that this plan will work. What I am convinced of is, as soon as the election is over next year for governor, and Blagoyevich is defeated, some commuter from Chicago will kill him. I know I'm not the only one expressing frustration with how he's handling this project.

Anyway...I stopped at the store, bought Kenny's new cd, bought some Keebler Jingles (cause Christmas stuff is out, and these cookies don't last on the shelves very long), bought a few other things, came home and relaxed while watching Bones and DooL. Now it's time for bed, and doing this all over again tomorrow, lol. I'm going to try to go into work early again tomorrow, can't stay late though, cause Kerry is streaming at 6pm EST. On that note, here are the lyrics to the next Ryan Shupe song (I just can't get enough of this cd!), Never Give Up.

Some people think me ugly, some people think me cute
Some people think me stupid, others astute
But people gonna do what they're gonna do
You got to listen to your heart and to yourself be true

'Cause sometimes life just slaps you in the face
And knocks your brains all over the place
And leaves you standing there wondering why
Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry
And all the things you thought were right are wrong
And all the friends you thought were true, they are now gone

But I say never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again
I said now never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again

I want to shine bright like a light on the top of the hill
I never want to feel like I'm the one who's underdressed
The one who's oppressed
I only want to make it like the best of the best
I want to rise to the top, don't ever want to stop
Don't hold me under water 'til my brain cells pop

Well I say never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again
I said now never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again

Every time I fall I feel that I must fly above the world
You know I'll try it everyday I won't be underestimated no way
Every time I fall I feel that I must rise above adversity
Surprise that's right, it's me and I'm here to fight just like Bruce Lee

And I say never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again
I said now never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again

Never give up
Never give in
Never fall down if you don't plan to get right back up again
I said now never give up
Never give in
I said never give all if you don't plan to get right back up again

I said now
I said now
Never give up

Sunday Night

Tomorrow is Monday, time to go back to work. And it just might have been the last nice day we'll have here for awhile, relatively speaking.

Today I woke up and almost forgot about the time change. Then I remembered that my alarm clock, my computer, my vcr and my cell phone all change on their own. So that left: my watches, my microwave, two wall clocks, my stereo, my answering machine, and my car. I got all those changed after I got dressed. I went to the store because today was the last day of a sale they were having for diet coke. Buy 4-12 packs for $10.00, get one free. I had a few other things to pick up too, so my shopping is done for the next few days. I also got some cash for the movie today.

I went to see Zorro today with Darlene and her sister. We also went to Wal-Mart so they could buy the personal toiletries I use, to be wrapped and put in my Christmas sock. Yes, I said Christmas. My aunt is now done wrapping all her Christmas presents. I haven't bought one single present yet. Makes me sick, lol

I streamed again tonight, after being off for almost two weeks. I'm still not convinced I want to continue, but I'm being told that we should have better crowds once winter sets in. We'll see if I can wait that long.

Anyway, time to go figure out what I'm going to wear tomorrow and get to bed. With the time change, it feels like 11pm, not 10pm, lol.
